Guarding, a role in its own right!<\/h3>\n

The family guard dog is neither a sporting dog nor a police dog. It should not be confused with defense and protection. Its role is more subtle: the dog alerts, deters, and protects its territory with discernment, often completely autonomously.<\/p>\n

Be careful! This is not an aggressive or fearful dog; most good guard dogs are very tolerant outside their territory. They have a strong defensive instinct and will try to deter any stranger from approaching and entering their territory.<\/p>\n

This type of dog must not practice civil biting, which is prohibited in France. It also does not need to practice sporty bite<\/a>, which is a game and should not be practiced outside of approved dog clubs.<\/p>\n
